Jeanine Bistogiannaki

Jeanine, a founder of Nabucco Capital, is no stranger to running businesses. She is an experienced CEO with many years’ experience in the property market, bolstered by her qualifications including the EAAB Board Exam through the University of Witwatersrand, a post-graduate in Property Development from the Graduate School of the University of Cape Town and Marketing Management Diploma from Damelin.

Jeanine initially graduated with a qualification in Fine Art from Durban University of Technology and launched her career at Barloworld Logistics Group as Marketing Manager for Decorative and Specialist Coatings for the Cape and Northern Areas. However, her interest in business and property saw her involvement in a number of career moves including four years at Jones Lang La Salle as a Capital Market Consultant before she formed Nabucco Capital with Charles Kahan.

Her diverse experience includes the role of Partner at the Assembly of Surestream Property Fund where she was involved in growing and listing companies in the Commercial Property Development market. Her roles with subsidiary companies include Managing Director at Everland Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd and Property Principal and Owner at Everland Estates (Pty) Ltd. Jeanine was also the Operations Director and a shareholder of Talana Construction (Pty) Ltd.

Janine plays a crucial advisory and consultative role as a director of Nabucco Capital, using her extensive experience and know how to guide businesses on their transaction origination initiatives.

Jacob (Jack) Edery

Jack Edery obtained his Bachelor of Accounting Science Honours (BCompt Hons) in 1977 before he continued his studies to qualify as a Charted Accountant (CA) SA. This formed the foundation of his 21-year tenure at Elvey Security Technologies, a distributor of intrusion detection security systems and technologies with over 20 branches nationwide, where he filled the role of CEO for 13 years.

His financial expertise, strategic skills, management experience and vision saw him playing a key role in Elvey Security Technologies’ 1999 JSE listing whilst he was the company’s Financial Director. Jack was also instrumental in introducing the ‘agency’ concept to Elvey Security Technologies in 2001, the same year that Hudaco Goup acquired Elvey Security Technologies. In 2003, Jack was appointed CEO of Elvey and become a member of Hudaco Group’s Executive Committee (Exco) in 2005. He was also appointed Chairperson of Pentagon Distributors, a business acquired by Elvey in 2011.

His leadership, dedication and commitment to Elvey resulted in significant growth for the business. He was responsible for the launch of nationwide roadshows which were instrumental in creating a product and solution showcase for Elvey’s partner network, driving awareness and reinforcing the brand.

When Jack retired as CEO of Elvey Security Technologies in 2016, his knowledge and experience was leveraged when he joined Nabucco Capital in 2017, providing the crucial element of understanding how successful businesses are run and playing an active and strategic role in mergers, acquisitions and listings.

Jack has held many professional memberships including the South African Instituted of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). He served on the board of the Security Industry Alliance as well as the SA Security Association where he was also Chairman. In addition, he also served as a board member and Chairman of the Electronic Security Distributor Association and chaired Alarm Supplies Zimbabwe from 2001-2004.

Harold Magid

Harold cemented his career in finance when he graduated from University of Witwatersrand in 1975 with a CTA. He gained invaluable experience at the accounting and auditing firm, Pollack Josset before starting his own accounting practice – H Magid & Company. He simultaneously started Bromag Investments (Pty) Ltd as Managing Director with interests in Hotels and Liquor Stores before becoming involved in Contract Stationary Supplies, who acquired Contract Computer Media.

The Contract Group was subsequently acquired by Bidvest Limited where Harold spent a total of 25 years and held the position of Divisional Director of Bidvest Office. In 2011, Harold moved to Bidvest Waltons and held positions including Chief Procurement Officer, Operations Director and Managing Director for the inland region. His career highlights include reaching record profitability for the region Which extended and included 45 distribution and retail branches, with in excess of 1100 employees, from the Northern Cape to the Free State, Gauteng, Northern Province, Mpumulanga and Limpopo Province.

Harold’s vast experience in running his own businesses, fulfilling leadership roles and steering mergers and acquisitions has added significant value to Nabucco Capital and its clients when he joined the business as a partner in 2016.
